Larry Hardoon asked attorney Judith Malone if the Boys and Girls Club of Boston would consider mediation and they refused in the following letter.
October 20, 1997
Dear Mr. Hardoon:
I have discussed your letter of October 15 with my client. We believe that your request for mediation is premature. Several months ago, I had asked your client to produce for us his documentation that would substantiate the very serious charge that he has made. To this date, no documentation has been forthcoming. Now your client has identified an alleged perpetrator who vehemently denies the allegation. The Boys and Girls Club is not aware that this individual was ever employed by the Club in any capacity and you apparently acknowledge that your client may be mistaken. As a first step, your client should let us see whatever documentation he has regarding his claim. We can then make a determination about whether this is an appropriate matter to mediate.
Yours sincerely,
[signed]
Judith A. Malone
